For over 15 years SkillGate has worked with hundreds of the world's leading companies. Over that time, we have created a comprehensive set of essential tools for HR and training departments. Our software is cloud based for easy access and continuous improvement. It includes 8 stand alone or integrated systems:

Academy10  - learning management system (LMS)
Infinity  - an extensive library of hundreds of online courses
Talent  - performance management/annual appraisal system
SCBS  - Short Course Booking System/event management system
MentorMe  - coaching & mentoring

The main ways our clients use our software are for performance management, compliance, and training and self-development. Each system has unique characteristics, but all focus on delivering three key benefits:

  • Lower costs - we offer our services on an annual license basis and fix them so that you won't get unexpected price hikes in future years.
  • Increased quality of training - the internet offers new ways to learn, asynchronous, time based social etc. We build our courses within a tight design frame brief system but are constantly experimenting and developing leading edge ways to use it.
  • Better targeting - asynchronous and continuous access (coupled with assessment) means delegates can be targeted with relevant training at times that suit them.


Of course, we deliver all the options you will require from an advanced HR support system; LMS; event management; SCORM 'cloud'; automated data feeds; library content management, personal trainer etc.

But what are we most proud of?

1. We build all our own software. We don't use open source solutions or other third party systems. This means we can respond quickly and knowledgeably to our client's requests. The software we build has been developed and modified in line with practical requests from countless clients - and it means we have the expertise to focus on your needs.

2. We believe in innovation. Here are four examples:

  • We were the first to introduce 'bite sized' learning as standard for corporate education.
  • Our Programme Author is unique. It allows you to create and manage any type of programme - employing any type of learning - over any time scale.
  • Traffic Light is a unique compliance reporting system designed to ensure highest levels of compliance.
  • XST allows authors to build a single course and manage it over multiple LMS systems.

3. We offer our software systems with an extensive range of our own customisable content (the Infinity Library).


We believe that training is an investment in staff knowledge and skills that should create competitive advantage for your company. As such, we recognise each company wants different solutions. We need to have the tools to respond and the flexibility to adapt.

We know that to be successful for you we must start by delivering four things:

  • A secure environment (we are ISO27001 accredited).
  • A system that makes it easy for you to deliver the training you want to the people who need it.
  • A system that involves staff and managers and becomes embedded as 'the way you do things'.
  • A system that can be designed around your requirements and rapidly modified to meet your exact requirements.

You can start with SkillGate by selecting one or more of the products that meet your anticipated needs. You can add (or remove) products over time as you develop your requirements. You will have your own account manager who will discuss the best ways of achieving your goals with you, and arrange face-to-face or online training sessions for you (or your administrators) showing you how to get the most from the products you have selected. You can request new content, product modification or administrative help at any time via the Work Order System (WOS).


We are based in the heart of the Sussex National park (UK). Our team work from a beautiful old barn conversion. We divide our client support operations into 4 divisions. Feel free to contact the heads of department any time:

  • Coding - work to continuously improve the functionality behind our 8 main systems. Improvements are normally based on specific suggestions or requests made by clients.
  • Technical Support - a team dedicated to dealing with the technical issues that arise from issues such as system set up, data feeds, product changes etc.
  • Production - new content design and build and modifying or updating courses in line with client requests.
  • Service Support - managing and administering your system as you have set them up (including delegate administration) to realise its potential for you.
